We had to wait a few minutes for a table but it was Saturday lunchtime. Then we had to wait 20 mins for our lunch, but they did tell us. The pork tacos were delicious but the rhubarb and mascarpone French toast was AMAZING. Delicious and light, just the right amount of sweetness. I'm going back just for that. The cafe is nice and there's a small garden with tables at the back, where we sat. Not the cheapest two teas, 1 pork tacos and 1 French toast was 32, but it was all delicious. Got 2 cakes to take away because they looked so good. Definitely recommend.

We dropped in for a coffee break on-route to Liverpool. And it was a very worthy detour for a good cuppa. I had the Brazilian decaf in a flat white and was blown away by the coffee quality - it was creamy, hazelnuty with a good orange fragrance. I had seldom come across a good quality decaf with Brazilian beans. Guess this was my lucky day. The 2 ladies were very kind to sell me some, then packed and taped them up in 2 disposable cups (‘cause that was all they had). Thank you both

Save to say this was the best breakfast place I’ve ever been to. Sadly. I don’t live nearby else I’d be here all the time. We had a breakfast sandwich each which was so delicious! I loved the quirks of the place- an egg timer for whether you liked your tea weaker or stronger- details like this just make the experience that little bit better. We also had a couple of desserts to take, couldn’t resist them, we had the cookies and cream cookie dough and the bake well cookie. Absolutely fabulous. Keep up the excellent work.

Perfect little brunch place, staff were really friendly and polite. My boyfriend and I both got little breakfasts and it doesn't look like a lot to some but it was the perfect amount of food for us. We also got a vanilla iced latte and an orange juice, tap water is readily available in bottles by the counter which is always appreciated. On the way out we grabbed a cinnamon bun and red velvet cookie, because they just looked too good to not try. And I can confirm after trying a nibble of both that they are so tasty. We are visiting from York but if we visit Lancaster again we will 100% be back

I went to Brew for breakfast with my sister and fiance. We all enjoyed the food and the cozy environment there. I ordered a toast with crispy bacon and maple syrup on top of it... and it was an absolute amazement! If I plan to go to Lancaster next time, I will definitely put Brew in the must-go list in the city!

Lovely local cafe in the heart of Lancaster. Small but still very family (and pram) friendly. Great atmosphere and lovely team. Food (and coffees) are aways very tasty! Definitely in my top three for brunch/lunch in Lancaster. Nice outdoors in summer!

Brew – A Lancaster Gem for Coffee & Brunch From the moment you step into Brew on Brock Street, you're greeted by a warm, friendly atmosphere and that unmistakable aroma of expertly brewed coffee. But what truly stole the show during my visit was the Eggs Benedict with crispy bacon. Each component felt thoughtfully curated the Focaccia bread baked just right, the eggs poached to silky perfection, and the hollandaise exquisitely smooth. The bacon was the star: beautifully crisped, adding a delightful crunch and smoky flavour that elevated each bite. Final Verdict: Brew is a must‐visit for anyone in Lancaster seeking top‐quality brunch. Their Eggs Benedict with crunchy bacon is a revelation—flawlessly executed and utterly satisfying. Add that to superb coffee and a welcoming atmosphere, and you've got a breakfast/brunch experience you’ll want on repeat. Sources
